Artist's Comments

This my first true abstract, was inspired/beat into me by two of my muses and , who have encouraged me to stop covering up my backgrounds/ hiding behind the trees. I feel naked now, and it is all your fault, :hmm: even though I feel a sense of redemption in that I tried.

The subject of the painting itself was inspired by a dear friend who finally got to make out with a guy she has adored for many a moon. On the evening of the kiss, he was scruffy but delighted, resulting in what looked like a sunburn/ carpet burn on her cute little nose. He kissed her so hard it hurt...but I don't recall a grin so big or eyes so blue as hers.

Original watercolour with hand blended pulverized 10kt gold on 150 lb cold press paper. Measures 11x 15in.

The Long Kiss Goodnight by *kaiorton has the courage to strip down, and show us all her 'nakedness' in this beautifully composed piece. (Suggested by `sbaraci and Featured by `De-Profundis)

Heh, I told you your backgrounds would be nice on their own! Too bad it took like 3 months to see one...heh. Very nice.

Wonderfull work your best to date. Feeling naked is good, bearing your soul is great it is liberating feeling takes a lot of courage to do that. It does feel like long avaited passion, deep rooted more in dreams than in reality waiting just to burst out, break free, bubbling inside. Composition is well put together, I like the meld of the light and dark its dance, two darknesses attracting each other and pulling away at same time covering up the light. Keep it up I want to see a lot more of these!

Yes, this is a very good and also beautiful one. Everybody can see all. Thats so. In each picture you can read the soul of the painter. Only this pictures are real good pictures. And this is one ot these. Super!

You did...I recall the comment now. I did post one background in my scraps and I must admit I rather liked it better without the crane I painted atop of it...there was something to that advice, now wasn't there. Thanks for your comments Kristen. You have always been supportive.

OMG, you got a DD! Congrats, my friend! :w00t: You've really deserved one with your strong and personal style! This one is especially an interesting piece, since you've gone completely abstract with it. Amazing textures with the watercolour and metal as always. Indeed, you don't need to put anything on top of the background! :) This is strong, it has intense feeling to it -- the dark stain and the scraped markings are like blood.. very effective. The gold gives it a wonderful, mystical glow. Beautiful.
